Acai Bowl

My first encounter with a legit Acai bowl was in San Francisco. My brother Ryan took our family one day to at the best Acai bowl place ever called Basik. That was the start to my obsession with Acai bowls and trying to recreate the sacred experience of eating my first Acai bowl. My brother, Ryan, the spear head of our family acai movement, would make these everyday whenever he would come visit Kansas and I really can't emphasize enough how much I love them. This recipe comes from a mix of Ryan and I's recipe, so I hope you'll give it a try. 

Ingredients:

1-2 packets of Acai (depends on how hungry you are

Handful (or 2) of frozen fruit --if you don’t have you can just use acai w/out fruit

1 banana

Dash of Cinnamon

Scoop of Nut Butter of choice

1/2 cup of dairy free milk or milk if that’s how you roll

Scoop of Protein

Squeeze of Honey

Directions:

  1. Place Above Ingredients in blender

  2. Blend em up until nice and smooth consistency

  3. Pour in bowl and top with

    1. Granola

    2. Honey

    3. Fruit- Bananas, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, whatever fruit you like =)

    4. Cacao nibs

    5. Shredded coconut

    6. Goji Berries

    7. Raw Cashews/Almonds

    8. Hemp Hearts

    9. Bee Pollen

Optional Acai Bowl Add ins:

-1/4-1 tsp Reishi & Ashwagandha- stress relief (every brand differs so read back of package for measurements)

-Ginger, I like to get ginger root in the produce section and grate it in.

-Chia Seeds

-Flax

-Hemp Hearts

-Collagen
